Cluster for safety
On 23 December 2013 seventeen entities founded the Cluster for Rescue, Safety and Civil and Environmental Protection at WISS company headquarters in Bielsko-Biała. Its aim is to promote innovation in the broadly defined field of rescue services, which will reach higher quality standards thanks to close cooperation and the sharing of knowledge and experience. Innovation is an interactive process which will be stimulated by enterprises, universities, research and development units, local government units, as well as institutions responsible for safety and rescue services. All entities engaged in this project have great potential, and working together will help them to implement innovative solutions into the sectors of rescue, safety, and civil and environmental protection. The support of research and scientific centres and institutions responsible for safety will be indispensable. All these activities will also be reflected in economic growth, in which science should play a leading role. As a result, there is a need for specialist training and workshops, as well as construction of new training centres, research laboratories and training grounds.
The Cluster is an excellent step towards the development of the broadly defined rescue services, safety and civil and environmental protection, as well as the introduction of a certain element of organization into previously decentralized research processes.
Promotional activities, on both a regional as well as a national and international level are necessary for the Cluster to achieve its goals. Workshops, seminars, trade fairs and conferences provide good opportunities to promote the Cluster's activities.
